Temperatures vary tremendously depending upon geography and weather conditions. In the islands of Honduras and Belize the warmest month is September where day time temperatures are in the low 90's. It gets much cooler inland and at altitude. While camping in Cusuco, Honduras, for example, temperatures can be as low as 40F! For most mainland excursions in Hondura and Belize be prepared for air temps to range from a low of 70 at night to a high of 95 on a very hot day. See our weather page for today's conditions on Roatan and a weekly log of dive conditions over the the past years. Water temperature
Expect a water temperature of 78 degrees. It's possible in June to have 80 or even 82 degree temperatures (tee shirt diving) but you really need to be prepared for cooler water. A 1/8th " wet suit or dive skin is sufficient for most. |

Reply with quote | #3 | In the Bay Islands, October through January can be rainy, so don't plan on a sun tan this time of year. Diving usually remains quite good however. While visibility can suffer a bit with fesh water run off, resorts report better than usual sitings of large pelagics. CoCo View Resort, sheltered from northers on the south side of the island boasts that except for the week of Hurricane Mitch in 1998, they have missed only only 1 day of boat diving due to weather since opening in 1982. |
