Utila has two medical clinics and a hyperbaric chamber. Between the three of
them things such as day to day general practice, x-ray, casting of limbs,
sutures, DCS, and other non life threatening medical conditions are taken
care of. In an emergency or life threatening situation the clinic can
provide advanced life support and stabilize patients that need
transportation to the hospital.

The nearest hospital is located about 22 miles away, it has 100+ beds.
Transportation by boat takes about 3 hours, if a charter flight is available
about one hour or less. The nearest level 1 trauma center is about 175 miles
away and takes about 5 hours to get there.

If you need further information feel free to email me anytime.

Thanks,

Billy Hale
