Reply with quote | #1 | Subject: School in Jutigalpa Message: I just returned from Roatan and had a chanceto visit Escuela Juan Lindo in Jutigalpa a small village just before Oakridge. Danny from Dockside lives there and his wife volunteers at the school.
The road to the community is dirt ( mud at this time of year) and extremely difficult to find. There is no work for the folks who live there and conditions are not getting better any time soon.
The school itself is onlytwo rooms and has 120 students K-6. They also have a pre school. There are only three teachers and Danny's wife who helps out.
Of all my travels on the Island, this school needs the most help. The roof leaks, they have no fans, no supplies, few school books and I saw no library books. Theyget hardly any assistance from the government and were so appreciative of the few pencils I gave them.
So, if you are on your way to CCV, please stop by the dollar store and just get a few supplies. Here is the linkwith some pictures and a wish list.

Thank you all so much for your past support, we are making a difference for the children of the Island.

Thank you for your post. I sent you the instructions by email. The supplies mean so much to the children of this small school that has been forgotten.
